There is a kind of special gratitude from couples going into a second marriage. Kelly and Mark were no exception. Getting ready was a breeze in some lovely suites of the Deko hotel on Northbourne Ave where the bride and groom were also going to spend their honeymoon night. There were some left over rose petals from the bouquets, so I suggested they scatter them on the bed for a little extra romance later.
There was a calm excitement underlying getting ready and from the moment Mark saw Kelly coming down the aisle, the emotions were high. Sweet is the word of the day for this Canberra wedding day at the Chapel at Gold Creek. Streamings of natural light came in through a whole side of the chapel which was open to the lovely autumn day which is magnificent not only for the guests but also my light and airy photography style.
What started out as a rainy morning turned into blue skies and beautiful light for portraits. Talk about #blessed!
Gold Creek is such a great part of Canberra to get married in. There are so many options for great wedding venues and portrait locations. Cockington Green Gardens is such great backdrop for classic country style photos. Kelly just want to get some autumn colours and the lovely leaves of the season!
When it was time to celebrate we headed over to the Gold Creek Country Club for food, fun, speeches and dancing. The thing I noticed most was the huge emphasis on the love of family and the support from their children in their union. I often see the rejoicing of parents for children and weddings, but this was very much the rejoicing of children for their parents. It was fantastic.
Congratulations to Kelly and Mark on life to come spent in each others arms.
